He was only 10 years old: Edwin. He used to earn money by begging in front of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City. He caught our attention, because he had the greatest smile and he was very curious.....

Edwin always tried to make a conversation in English. Despite the little knowledge he had at that time. He lived with his stepmom, his dad and twin brother in the squatterarea of Calantas. When he was in high school, he knew about ANAK offering scholarships to talented children and he was confident enough to apply as Edwin has always been very ambitious and persistent.

On March 25, 2011 Edwin Segovia graduated CUM LAUDE in Education at the University of West Negros. Congrats Edwin! Edwin is very grateful to all sponsors of ANAK. You not only gave him a chance to a better future, but also his family.
