He was only ten years old, when he was earning little money by begging in front of the UNiversity of St la Salle. Now he is graduating CUM LAUDE in Education at the University of St. La Salle.

His name is Edwin. He caught our attention because of his genuine smile and his curiosity. Despite his poor English, he always made an effort to practice his English. Edwin's mom died when he was only four years old. She left him and his twin brother behind. Edwin and his brother were living in the squatter area Calantas.

When he was in high school he learnt that ANAK was supporting talented and ambitious children from impoverished area. Edwin was very ambitious and very persistent. He applied and was granted a scholarship through college.

On March 25, 2011 Edwin Segovia graduated CUM LAUDE in Education at the University of West Negros. Congratulations Edwin! Edwin is very grateful to all sponsors and supporters of Anak, as you not only give him a chance for a better future, but also his family and his future family.
